Little Black Bag….unboxing!

I was so excited a few days ago when I received my Little Black Bag “box” in the mail! Although I did not actually get a little black bag I did get an awesome bag for the spring! If you want to learn a little bit about Little Black Bag read about it here. Also, if you would like to sign up for little black bag click here.

So lets get to my box!

Little Black Bag Box!

Little Black Bag Box!

Opening the little black bag box! Everything is individually wrapped!

This ring was cute but it felt really cheap so I sent it back and when I open another bag tomorrow, I will have an extra item in this months bag!

This was my “main” item and I didn’t trade it at all! I absolutely loveeeee this bag! It is so big and is so great for spring and even fall! Alice and Olivia is great quality too!

I absolutely love this necklace! I have no idea when I will wear this but I had to have it! It retailed around $60!

I really like this bracelet when I first saw it but I returned it because it hung funny on my wrist and wasn’t practical for my wardrobe!

So that is my little black bag unboxing and I have to tell you I will absolutely be continuing with this subscription box service! I love shopping but being able to trade items is a whole lot of fun! If you have some extra money or are looking for a gift for yourself this is an awesome gift! If you have any questions about the site feel free to ask!

Bzz Agent! Schick Hydro and Glade!

I absolutely love being able to try new products for free and being able to give a review about them! I joined the site in order to be able to try new products and give a meaningful review that companies are actually paying for!

This month I am reviewing Schick Hydro razors. I have used these razors prior to this review and I absolutely love them! There is nothing worse than using a razor that just cuts up your legs and leaves them feeling dry! This razor is the total opposite! I absolutely love how my legs feel when I am done using this! I gave one of these razors to my mom a few months ago and this weekend when she was visiting I gave her another and some refills and you would have thought I had given her gold! We absolutely love these razors and I love that I can get them for pretty cheap with a sale and a coupon!

The next product I am reviewing I haven’t had a chance to purchase yet but I have a coupon for free items for these!

I have actually tried the air spray and love the tropical one but haven’t had a chance to try the Oil Diffuser yet! The air spray smells absolutely wonderful and totally masks any nasty smells in the air!

I highly recommend if you enjoy testing new products to check out! You won’t regret it!

Yikes… two weeks since a post! Update!

Wowza! My last post was on February 9th, life really hasn’t been that crazy but every time I went to sit down to do a post I just wasn’t feeling like I had anything interesting to say or write about! Anyways a brief summary of what I’ve been up to…
I fell off the gym routine this past weekend because Chris came home and we had so much to do, Friday we had three houses to look at and we think we may have found “the one”…Saturday we took his parents to this wonderful (and expensive) German restaurant for their 20th wedding anniversary. Sunday I had to work and now Chris is back on travel but will thankfully be back in two weeks for good…hopefully!
I did pick up this months book club book for Julies book club for this month but I haven’t been able to crack into it yet. If you aren’t sure what Julies book club is all about check it out here…I participated last month and it was a lot of fun!

I’m also expecting my “little black bag” to come through tomorrow so when it does I will d

Snowed IN!

So after my post yesterday I headed out to try some shopping, I made it out to two stores and the got to the third and it was closed! Wahhh…the snow really didn’t come and hit us until after 11pm yesterday because when we woke up this is what it looked liked…please enjoy these snowy pictures!

These are all taken out of our hotel window, we haven’t gone out yet because we still have a blizzard warning until 7pm and nothing is open! We aren’t even sure what we are going to do for lunch! Ahhh!

Anyways, after shopping yesterday I met Chris for lunch at Amatos, my favorite sub restaurant! I got a small original italian.

We hung around the room until about 5pm yesterday and then headed out to a local Mexican restaurant…it was okay but I like the ones in our town better… it was lacking flavor for sure! After dinner we went to the grocery store because obviously if a blizzard is coming you need to have ice cream on hand! We bought Ben and Jerry’s Strawberry Cheesecake! It definintely made up for the fact that dinner was sub par! Also, we got two cookies at the front lobby! And hot chocolate because the hotel has a hot bar all the time!

This morning we woke up to 2 feet of snow and still snowing! We hit up the hotels breakfast buffet and have literally just been staying warm in our room until we decide to venture out! What I think is awesome is that the hotel gave all of their staff member and families rooms for the night so that the staff could actually be here for work today!
Here is breakfast from today, french toast sticks, bagel sandwich, fruit salad, maple sausage! Yum!

Did you get snow today?
Hows the weather where you are?

Blizzard Warning!

I hope all of you in the Northeast, like me, are getting ready to hunker down for the next couple of days as we get tackled with two feet of snow! And I thought it was going to be a mild winter…silly me! Right now I am sitting in Chris’ hotel room as he finishes up his work week! This morning I woke up around 7:30 and headed to the hotels gym, which I had all to myself! I really enjoyed this gym, even though it was small it had great equipment and a TV attached to every machine! I miss that, in college my freshman year they built a brand new recreation center with an indoor track and the equipment each had an individual TV attached! After my workout which looked like this…

I hit up the breakfast buffet! I had three turkey sausage links, a glass of apple juice, and a western omelet!

In a little while I’m going to head out and check out the shopping scene up here before the roads get too bad and then I’m going to meet Chris at my favorite sandwich shop, Amatos! Amatos has the most outrageous pickles you have ever tasted, and I am a pickle connoisseur! The really bad, blizzard conditions, aren’t supposed to start until about 7pm EST so we should be able to head out for dinner too! If not we will be walking across the street to the other hotels restaurant!

Stay warm everyone! I hope you didn’t have to go to the grocery store yesterday! I went just to pay my electric bill and it was mobbed!

Did you have to go to the grocery store yesterday?
Are you a Northerner? Are you ready for the storm?

Received my Nature Box! …and packing!

hi guys!
Yesterday I got home around 8:50 pm and opened my mail box to find that I had a package to pick up at the club house which closes at 9:00pm so I had to run up there to grab my box! I made it just in time and I’m so excited to try these snacks! If you don’t know what Nature Box is check out my post about it here! Here are a few pictures of what I got!

Snack Card (details what snack you received in you Nature Box)

Berry Bunch

Ranch Peas

Masa Chips

Citrus Crunch Granola

Cranberry Almond Bites

The snacks are ranch peas, cranberry almond bites, citrus granola, masa chips, and berry bunch! I’m so excited to crack these open and give them a try! I’m headed up to Maine today to be with Chris so I will be bringing them along so we can try them!

In other news… I hate packing! I don’t like having to plan outfits! I prefer to have a whole closet of clothes to pick from in case my mood changes, which apparently I think influences what I wear! I’m headed up to Maine tonight instead of tomorrow because the North East is expecting like two feet of snow and I really don’t want to be caught in it! So I should get to Maine around midnight! I’m excited to swim in the salt water pool they have!

Do you hate packing?
What makes packing easier for you?
Have you traveled lately?

Best place to do vacation research?! And my workout!

So like I said yesterday I am heading to Bangor, ME on Friday for a mini vacation and last night I was trying to do a little research and figure out what to do up there for three days. Chris and I have already planned our restaurants out but what to do in between eating is the question! I started using which is also an app as well as a web page. I really like it because you can enter the city and state and them once you do that it breaks it up into categories.

What to eat, what to see and where to stay! You can click on the recommendations and see actual reviews which I especially liked! Although there is not a lot to do up in Bangor in the winter except for freeze your butt off, I think we will figure something out! If anything well just camp out in the hot tub at the hotel for three days!

This morning I had to wake up to help a friend out by watching her son until his daddy gets out of work at 8:30 AM! Followed by an awesome workout! My resistance to running is definitely getting a lot better. I’m not fatigued after five minutes which is awesome and it really lets me know that this program is working!

Also, my friends (the ones I babysat this morning for) just got a Great Dane puppy named talula and she is adorable but huge! She’s only three months old!

Off to work I go! Only until 5! Great short day! 🙂

Short night, long days!

I’ve been very scarce lately on posting my meals and workout but I promise I’m still eating good and working out, it seems like my nights have gotten short and my work days are getting longer! But at least I have a job! This weekend though, I will be traveling up to Maine (4 hours away) and visiting Chris who is staying up there for business! I’m really excited because there are some awesome restaurants that I have been drying to try since he’s been up there! It’s like a little mini vacation for me! His hotel even has a alt water pool, how cool is that?!
Since Chris has been away, meals have not been terribly exciting because I don’t have to cook for anyone but myself so I typically get home late from work and make something really quick and then go to sleep…
I have been spending a lot of time on the site Little Black Bag because it’s awesome and you get to trade items in your little black bag until you’re happy with you little black bag and then they ship it to you…I still have five days of trading but I love all of the items in my bag :). Take a look at what’s in my little black bag here!
I have also been spending a lot of my time on the website called Posh Mark. It’s actually an apple app and you can buy and sell designer clothing on it which is great because there are so many things I need to get rid of and I don’t have a consignment shop near by! You can check out what I’m selling by clicking here!

As far as working out is going I sort of feel like I’m in a slump…I have been following the couch to 5k app and it is only three days a week for running and I sort of feel like I need to do more cardio than just that if I want to loose more weight! I have been losing about a pound every week or so but I just need a little more! I wish I was a member of a gym so I could take some fun classes that I’m always reading about!

Well….it’s off to bed for me! I have to go watch the cutest little man ever tomorrow morning at 6AM!

How is your week going…even though it is only Monday?!
Have you ever sold your used clothes online? Poshmark?
Have you ever signed up for a subscription service?

The Secret Keeper …book review!

So this past month I have been reading the Secret Keeper for Julie’s book review!

Book Description (taken from Amazon):
From the New York Times and internationally bestselling author of The Distant Hours, The Forgotten Garden, and The House at Riverton, a spellbinding new novel filled with mystery, thievery, murder, and enduring love.
During a summer party at the family farm in the English countryside, sixteen-year-old Laurel Nicolson has escaped to her childhood tree house and is happily dreaming of the future. She spies a stranger coming up the long road to the farm and watches as her mother speaks to him. Before the afternoon is over, Laurel will witness a shocking crime. A crime that challenges everything she knows about her family and especially her mother, Dorothy—her vivacious, loving, nearly perfect mother.

Now, fifty years later, Laurel is a successful and well-regarded actress living in London. The family is gathering at Greenacres farm for Dorothy’s ninetieth birthday. Realizing that this may be her last chance, Laurel searches for answers to the questions that still haunt her from that long-ago day, answers that can only be found in Dorothy’s past.

Dorothy’s story takes the reader from pre–WWII England through the blitz, to the ’60s and beyond. It is the secret history of three strangers from vastly different worlds—Dorothy, Vivien, and Jimmy—who meet by chance in wartime London and whose lives are forever entwined. The Secret Keeper explores longings and dreams and the unexpected consequences they sometimes bring. It is an unforgettable story of lovers and friends, deception and passion that is told—in Morton’s signature style—against a backdrop of events that changed the world.

So here is what I thought! *Spoiler*

During the first couple of chapters of The Secret Keeper I had a hard time following along with the characters. Because the chapters switched between characters so often and new characters were being thrown into the mix I had to make sure I knew which era I was trying to read into. Also, in the beginning of the book it almost started off backwards because by the end of the book it was like I was reading the same chapters as I had read in the first couple of chapters…once I could differentiate who was who the book was extremely intriguing and left me guessing until the last page.

I was not entirely “feeling” the book until about the 100th page of so and because it was such a large book I am very happy that i stuck with it. After about 1/3 of the way through the book I did not want to put it down. Kate Morton certainly knew how to keep the readers guessing until the final page of the book! I honestly could not have predicted how the book was going to end, in fact I had to actually go back and reread the final chapter to make sure I hadn’t missed anything because I was not prepared for what happened! Every single possibility went through my head except for the fact that Dorothy was actually Vivienne…I mean seriously?! I thought maybe the Thank You card was written by Vivienne after Dorothy had killed Vivienne ex husband… I thought maybe Jimmy was actually Laurels dad… I was seriously guessing the entire book… but what I did not pay attention to or did not see if it was actually answered was who was the Thank You card written from? Anyone have an answer to that question?

I almost found myself hoping the Dorothy had married Jimmy and that Vivienne had been able to leave her god awful husband! Or that if Dorothy and Jimmy had not worked out that Vivienne and Jimmy could have found a way to be together!

All in all I would highly recommend this book but just know that it definitely takes a little while for the book to pick up its pace but once it does, rest assured that you will not be able to put it down! I look forward to reading other books written by Kate Morton and I hope you join us for next months book review!
